all kinds of lag

hola! i have returned from the former soviet union. but before i can write about THAT trip, i have to finish posting pictures from the turkey trip. so here's a rundown on our vacation in turkey:

it's full of amazing old buildings and beautiful architecture, with minarets dotting the skyline - and has gobs of natural beauty to boot. it's a great place to visit with your friends, especially if one of them happens to speak turkish and knows what things like "bum! diye patlidi" and "cevrenizdekilere" mean ("boom! it blew up" and "the people around you" respectively). and while we never found out what the question is, we do know that raki is the answer.
