i tunes
a friend told me to listen to the new justin timberlake song - it's been on the radio a lot, and it's apparently bringing 'sexy' back. so, this week i listened and listened to crappy corporate radio stations in the hopes of hearing it. a seemingly endless pile of crappy music. just when i started to get worried that my tendency to hear my OWN lyrics was getting in the way of identifying the song, a little fairy swept in and reminded me that i could just pay $0.99 on itunes and be DONE with the radio torture! i had never used itunes before, but not having to intentionally hear shakira again this week was worth the $0.99. and itunes is neat - it tempts browsers to buy lots of songs, which is of course why it's a successful business. one downside: 'celebrity playlists', as if i might look to anderson cooper for musical recommendations. (some were more interesting - jack black's included songs by petra haden and charlie haden, his family-in-law). one upside: now my pod shows a little tiny justin timberlake when it plays the song. this is the first time it has decided to show me a picture.

If you update to the new itunes, it'll show you the album cover for most of your albums (as long as they were ripped off the original CD and not a compilation). Its pretty cool.
