just this week, i discovered that there was a block on my phone that prevented me from getting text messages. i've had the phone for 3 years, and never reaized that people actually use text messages - just knew i never got any. but folks DO use texts - in the 3 days that i've been text-capable, i've received 4 (FOUR) texts from people to whom i did not even announce my new capability. just imagine how many texts i've missed in my lifetime! welcome to 2006, g!

also, the other awesome thing that happened today: i bought a mattress. of the non-inflatable sort! it will be delivered thursday. i feel so grown up. although cashiers at two liquor stores this weekend did not believe my 1976 id, other signs indicate that i am actually approaching grownupness. (maybe i should start combing my hair. and let's not get into why i was at two liquor stores this weekend.)
