hamilton pool

austin, texas is a pretty cool place. very nice to visit, not sure about residency. got to see millions of bats, and one squished armadillo, but zero rattlesnakes. wednesday (not thursday) is the start of the weekend party. the college girls dress in very little - and in very little sans sequins. drinks are rock-bottom cheap everywhere - $2 was the max i paid for a drink all week - any drink, and i tested lots. even got to stay in the four seasons. saw hincapie, but missed lance. very nice place to visit.

the very coolest thing was hamilton pool. it's a little drive outside the city - maybe 20 miles total. it's a big rock overhang and a chilly, crytal-clear pool. it was pretty dry, but there were trickles of water running over the edge (see the stalactites below the overhang). you could swim beneath the drips, and it looked like star wars stars. i had no idea there was anything as amazing as this place in all of texas.
