i love my fambly
my fambly came to visit for a 23-hour whirlwind to celebrate my upcoming birthday. we walked around town, ate at our new favorite restaurant, and hung out at a divey bar for a few hours. three of the four of us had a fantastic time. my brother had a bit less fun - he always adds a little bit of sullen and a dollop of morose when he's with the fam.
but he can't complain too much - he found an opportunity to explain the 'shocker' to my parents. [the wichita shockers were playing george mason downtown - we heard people chanting let's-go-shockers, we didn't think it was a real team] yes, my bro used the rhyming "pink" and "stink" in his explanation. yes, mom turned directly to dad and said "don't get any ideas". yes, the shocker became the gesture of the evening, outpacing even the fambly favorite, the "f you, one-eye" pirate-joke gesture.
i love my fambly. i'm still waiting for the day when we won't all have to bend over backwards to keep my brother happy, but i'm sure it will come.
