elves
the large organization i work with has a great program to hire individuals who might not be employed otherwise. today i was standing in a quick meeting with all my 20 or so immediate coworkers in the lobby of our office area. all of a sudden, the door opened, and two women walked in, each sub-48" and dressed in identical smocks. they saw us, and immediately put their fingers to their lips in the universal shhh sign and started tiptoeing among us exaggeratedly. my coworkers went on with the discussion without pausing, but the universe stopped for me.
am i going to hell for the title of the post?

hell? Are you kidding? Well, actually, since what it seems like what you are describing are actually "Munchkins". Elves have flowing long hair and pointed ears and can do magic and shoot arrows and scale walls and look dreamy and ....sorry, saw LOTR fifteen too many times. Yep, you're describing "munchkins"....or maybe "Oompa Loompas".
