plants!
ok, first things first. i bought water at the grocery store yesterday (i am a sucker for cool bottles), but it wasn't until today that i noticed my new office pet (printed inside, very swimmy):
now, business. remember this guy? he's a 'propagation prohibited' kind of guy. but, he went and made his own baby:
that's a 2" pot - see the tiny fella poking up in the center? am i supposed to kill offspring? no way, man. now i got me a baby outlaw. here's a size-reference shot with some friends:
that's a baby african violet on the left, moss and soleirolia (baby's tears)in the middle, and the tiny illegal baby on the right. the big guy in front is a 'paddle plant', a kind of succulent/kalanchoe that was on sale at trader joe's...and the moss and soleirolia were cheaper than beer at the garden store, and who can leave sale plants sitting there? not me, not me. here, here, and here are some other pictures of the gazillion new plants that arrived or were given pots here this weekend, including itty little jades and zillions of violets. oh, it's starting to be nice here! the family's up to 36, not including 8 summer visitors (mom's plants) or 2 bred for other homes.
